Happy International Day of the Nacho!

Happy International Day of the Nacho! What was at first an accident, turned into the ultimate snack and party food. It all began in 1943, when Ignacio Anaya was missing a chef, so he cut tortillas into triangles and topped the chips with melted cheese and jalapenos. The dish got its name after Anaya's nickname "Nacho".

Ever since this time, Nachos have only grown in popularity. In 1970, a man by the name of Frank Liberto began selling nachos at Arlington Stadium, home of the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball Team. Later on, Liberto invented nacho cheese sauce, so instead of just melted cheese, nachos would come with a melted cheese sauce. After this, the snack started catching on quickly. Finally in 1975, Ignacio Anaya passes away. There is a plaque created in his honor in Piedras Negras, that declares October 21st the International Day of the Nacho.

In honor of International Day of the Nacho, we wanted to highlight Kimble's Catering nacho offerings. Of course you could customize an order of nachos however you would like them, but why do that when you could have Kimble's South of the Border Signature Station?
